About Us

A lifetime love for dogs

Like many dog owners we prefer home boarding instead of kennels for our own dog Fara, as she's used to her home comforts and enjoys proper walks.

We started Bed and Bone to offer other dog owners in the Lothians a reliable, licensed boarding service where they may be able to go away and relax knowing their beloved dog is safe and being spoiled while they are away.

Boarding is in our home with myself, Malc and our two teenagers. Our house is perfectly situated for lovely long walks around beautiful leafy Livingston South, taking in the Murieston Trail, Bankton Mains Park and Bellsquarry Woods.

HAZEL

Dogs have played a big role in my life for over 40 years. My first Jack Russell was our family dog Pippi, she lived to the ripe old age of 19! Penny came into my life and stayed for 16 years, only after she sadly passed away and our kids were toddlers did we take a gap as life just got too busy.

During that time though we looked after many family and friends dogs all different breeds, then in 2017, Fara our Jack-a-Poo arrived. Working from home I am always here to give the dogs lots of cuddles and companionship.

MALCOLM

I grew up in Dunblane with lots of different breeds, from a very young child growing up
we had a Lab, Jack Russell and later a Pekingese! When I met Hazel I got lucky because Penny came as part of the package,
I knew Pippi too and later we got Fara together. I am also here most of the week during the day to provide cuddles and plenty walks.

There is plenty variety going on in our family home and lots of walkies to keep the dogs amused and entertained. Don’t worry if you have an older dog, as our home is large enough to accommodate quiet space, and our teenagers respect that.
